Which organisations will CRC affect?
Qualification and participation in CRC is based on supplies of electricity to organisations rather than to individual sites. An organisation will also need to check if it is part of a group because qualification is assessed on a group basis.

What happens if an organisation refuses to participate/make an information disclosure?
CRC is a mandatory scheme. Any organisation that does not comply with its legal obligations under CRC may face financial and other penalties.

How is the Scheme administered?
CRC is a UK-wide scheme. The Environment Agency will undertake the role of scheme administrator for registration, running CRC on-line registry and selling allowances on behalf of the government, for
the whole of the UK.

CRC starts in April 2010. The scheme is divided into set time periods known as ‘phases’. Phase 1 is the introductory phase which runs from 1 April 2010 until 31 March 2013.
